PRACTICAL GUIDE
What belongs in an electrical closeout folder?
Reviewed by M2 AI, LLC · Updated August 29, 2026
Closeout Readiness Check uses a fixed public-reference baseline to help a project manager prepare one folder for human review. It does not interpret your contract or certify acceptance.
The seven baseline categories
- One-line / riser as-built: a record drawing with a revision or issue date.
- Panel schedules: panel and circuit context with a revision or issue date.
- Acceptance testing: electrical testing, commissioning, or NETA context with a test/report date.
- O&M manuals: operations-and-maintenance material with electrical or equipment context.
- Warranties: electrical/equipment warranty material with an issue or effective date.
- Spare parts / attic stock: spare-parts or material-turnover evidence.
- Training record: training attendance, completion, owner, or attendee context with an event/completion date.
The baseline is derived from the public UFGS 01 78 00 Closeout Submittals specification. That source requires project-specific editing, which is why this product treats the list as preparation guidance rather than the requirements of any individual contract.
Local scanning and your Claude conversation
Files are scanned locally. Findings and cited excerpts are returned to Claude; project documents are not uploaded to M2 AI's billing service. Anthropic may process the returned results under your Claude account's terms and settings. Select only material you are authorized to review and share with Claude. See our Privacy Notice.
How the local check labels evidence
Found means readable evidence matched each category's concept groups in one source. Date review means evidence was readable but a valid Gregorian value was not found near the applicable label. Human review required means a plausible file could not be read reliably or scan coverage was incomplete. Not found in the selected folder means no evidence appeared in the selected scope; it is not proof that the item does not exist elsewhere.
Why document timing matters
A year alone is not enough. The check accepts a real calendar value such as 2026-08-01, 8/1/2026, or August 1, 2026 when it appears near the applicable label in the same readable source. Impossible values are rejected.
Activation after the free check
The purchasing computer activates after a successful subscription checkout. A recovery key is available for another computer or support recovery; it is not required on the purchasing computer.
Open the activation link included in your completed free-check report, select a plan, and complete checkout. Then return to Claude Desktop and run check_closeout_folder again. Use the current live-billing extension; older test-beta activation links cannot purchase. Subscriptions renew at $99/month or $990/year until canceled. If you already used your free check, running the current extension again provides an activation link without resetting the allowance.
Manage billing and recovery
On the purchasing computer, ask Claude to use manage_closeout_subscription to open your secure Stripe billing portal. To retrieve a backup key for another computer or support, ask it to use show_recovery_key. Keep that key private. These actions do not read your project folder.
What still needs a person
Compare the report with the contract, specifications, owner requirements, current revisions, signatures, approvals, and submission rules. Open every cited source. Do not use the report as legal, payment, acceptance, or certification advice.
